CLOUDRIDGE TECHNOLOGIES PTY LTD builds three backend services for small game teams: save sync, leaderboards and remote config. This page sets out the architecture commitments the company is prepared to be held to, what each one rules out, and the register entries a buyer can check without asking.
Switching cost
Backend suppliers are the worst place for a leap of faith.
If a game studio picks the wrong art tool, it changes tools. If it picks the wrong backend, it has handed player data to a company that might vanish, and getting it back is a migration rather than a decision.
That asymmetry is why the commitments below are written in terms of what they foreclose rather than what they enable. A constraint a supplier has put in writing is worth more to a studio than a capability list, because it is the part that can be held against the supplier later.
Where the engineering stands
Save sync and leaderboards run as working services in a development environment, with the data model, the conflict resolution and the export path implemented. Remote config is at specification stage and follows them. The availability column of the service catalogue records where each one sits, and Schedule B of the terms of service is the operative statement of it.
Commitments
Four decisions being made now.
Each one is cheap to hold to now and expensive to reverse later. Publishing them is what makes them checkable against the services when they open.
